Like we don’t know where our story continues, we don’t know where our story began. It’s unimaginable for many, it’s reality for some. For me it has become a habit of neglecting and ignoring what I don’t know and what I miss. But after my mothers secret whispers, I finally feel the urgency to research my past.
Although I’m used to doing research, it’s difficult when it concerns your own well being. I’m meeting Sophie and her companions June and Brigitte, and the information they gathered is impressive. I feel a bit guilty for not having done the research myself all this time.
But it’s mainly Sophie and Brigitte who are responsible for the various files and it’s up to me which files to research. June and Brigitte are doing the financial files together with Sophie. I decided to take on the political ones.
‘That’s nice’, Brigitte mentioned. ‘We can do this together.’
‘But you are working on the finances aren’t you?’
‘Yes, but you don’t have to do anything by yourself and if you’re going into the field, you can call me if you have questions or concerns.’
Brigitte hands me my agreement. ‘You’ll receive an account on our billing platform. You will be paid as a freelancer like we all do.’
‘Thank you. How do you finance all this?’I ask curiously.
‘It’s mainly mine and Sophie’s investment. We have our investors, but I’m pretty successful in day trading. June is also, so we put a lot of our profit into this research.’
‘Oh wow. I’m really impressed.’
‘Don’t need to be’, Brigitte laughs kindly. ‘But thank you.’
I take my files and take a seat at one of the desks at the window. For a moment I’m just watching the view and am taken by the feeling of not being alone anymore. Even though I haven’t found anything yet, it feels like I am a bit closer to home.
Love and light,
